Audit Court cannot breach bank secrecy, Supreme Court rules

Brazil’s Supreme Court ruled that the Union’s Audit Court (the federal administrative court in charge of auditing federal agencies, contracts, etc.) does not have jurisdiction to determine the breach of bank secrecy of persons or companies under investigation by the court. According to the Supreme Court, only the Legislative and Judiciary Branches are legitimate to carry on such a breach. (Injunction 22,801)
