Brazil and the US Sign Agreement for Exchange of Tax Information

Brazil and the United States signed an agreement for exchange of tax information. The agreement permits the exchange of information regarding the collection of taxes from individuals, legal entities and unincorporated entities. This is the first time Brazil signs this type of agreement with a country with which it has not signed a tax treaty. The agreement still needs review and approval by the Brazilian Congress before entering into force. The main purpose of the agreement is to fight money laundering and tax evasion.
