The Brazilian Government has modified the Brazilian Passport in its form, color and specially technological securities items, with the purpose to make its falsification practically impossible. Such modifications shall commence in the beginning of 2006. The modifications follow the rules of international security established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) connected to the United Nations. The 16 security items shall include a bi-dimensional code bar and digitalized photographs which are part of the new project system that comprehends, besides the institution of the travel document, a complete inspection system to be installed in all ports, airports and board areas and a consular network abroad to inspect the international traffic.
