COAF issues rules for real estate activities


Brazil’s Council for the Control of Financial Activities (Conselho de Controle de Atividades Financeiras, or COAF, a branch of the Finance Ministry in charge of monitoring money laundering and illegal financial activities) on October 14, 2006 issued Resolution No. 14 establishing new regulations to be followed by real estate sector (construction companies, real estate developers, realtors, etc.) in case of suspicious transactions involving their clients.
