As of August 2006, Brazil will exercise the Mercosur Presidency. The mandate will culminate in the 31st Common Market Counsel Ordinary Meeting and in the Mercosur Presidents Summit, in next December. This task is of great responsibility for the Country, as it encompasses the duty to lead the negotiations in progress in various international venues and the strengthening of the regional integration process.
