Brazil’s enacted a new law that decrees the end of the reinsurance monopoly in the country. The government believes that with the end of the monopoly, the country will see significant business development. Changes to reinsurance in Brazil are an old demand from developed countries, which plans to exchange concessions in agriculture with those in the service sectors of developing countries.
