Azevedo Sette Advogados (“Firm”), with ethics, integrity, information security, and the protection of personal data as its primary concerns, reflects in the use of its website and other related pages (“Pages”) the same values that govern its service provision routine. To that end, it has developed this Privacy Notice (“Notice”), which shall govern the use of its web pages for the purposes described below. 

This Notice serves to regulate how we process the personal data of those who access the Pages (“User”), as the preservation of privacy and the protection of personal data are fundamental principles of the Firm. This Notice does not apply to websites and services that we do not control. 

To better illustrate how we process personal data, below is a summary of our Notice:

This Notice may be updated at any time by the Firm.


1. What types of personal data do we process?

The Firm may collect information provided by the User and information collected automatically when accessing the Pages, such as IP address with date and time, type of browser used, among others.

Thus, there is the processing of personal data (i) provided by the User, and (ii) collected automatically:

(i) User-provided data: The Firm processes all information actively entered by the User on the Pages, such as full name, email, job title, and company they work for, when filling out forms;

(ii) Data collected automatically: The Firm also collects a range of information automatically, such as: characteristics of the access device, browser, IP address (with date and time), IP origin, information about clicks, pages accessed, subsequent pages accessed after leaving the Pages, or any search term typed on the websites or in reference to them, among others. To do so, the Firm may use certain technologies, such as cookies, pixel tags, beacons, and local shared objects, which are used to optimize the Users browsing experience on the Pages, according to their habits and preferences.

The processing of automatically generated data may also occur on Pages maintained by the Firm on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, or other Pages owned by the Firm, platforms that have their own Privacy Notices, which you must also agree to in order to fully utilize their functionalities.

It is possible to disable the automatic collection of information through certain technologies, such as cookies and caches, via your internet browser settings, as well as on our own website, specifically regarding cookies. However, the User should be aware that if these technologies are disabled, some features offered by the website, which depend on the processing of said data, may not function correctly.

Users may make requests regarding their personal data processed by the Firm by sending an email to our DPO at dpo@azevedosette.com.br, with the subject “My Personal Data”. We attempt to respond to all legitimate requests within a period of thirty (30) calendar days. Eventually, a longer timeframe may be necessary if the request(s) are complex and/or numerous. In this case, we shall inform you and keep you updated on the progress of your request(s).


2. Processing purposes

When accessing the Pages, the User may provide the following personal data for the specific purposes of:

Institutional marketing: by providing your name, position, company, and email in the designated field on the Pages, as well as selecting the areas of interest for our communications, the Firm may send you information about your areas of activity, releases, articles, newsletters, and invitations to events. The Firm may analyze your interaction with these emails to improve the quality of the content, as well as have access to your citys geolocation, your IP address, the browser used, and your navigation of links accessed through the message we sent. 

Conducting selection processes: through the Careers tab, you will find a hyperlink to the Recrutei portal, where you can apply for available positions in the Firms units. For your application, the Firm may process data such as name, telephone number, email, experience in the field, registration number with a professional body, and other information necessary for the application; 

Contact: On the Contact Us tab, you will find a link to send general messages to the Firm. For this purpose, the personal data processed are those required by the email provider you use, such as your name and email address, and any other data you may voluntarily wish to share with the Firm in your message. The Firm recommends that you share only the minimum necessary personal information during your initial contact. 


3. Cookies

Cookies are files or pieces of information that may be stored on your devices when you visit the Pages. Generally, a cookie contains the name of the website that originated it, its lifespan, and a value, which is randomly generated.

The Firm uses Cookies to understand how Users interact with its Pages, such as the tab visited and the time of the visit. In addition, the Firm also uses Cookies that record visitors choices in order to personalize the User experience. The cookies used are:

To disable the collection of performance and advertising Cookies, the User may adjust the settings in their browser.

Finally, we remind you that if the User does not authorize the use of cookies on the Pages, certain services may not function optimally.


4. Retention period

The Firm will retain the personal data collected through its Pages and social networks only for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected. 

The Firm has implemented a monthly system of exclusion of personal data relating to the platforms mentioned above. The system excludes email addresses that are inactive, with errors, or that have opted to no longer receive messages from the Firm (through the unsubscribe tool). 

If the User requests their deletion from the database, as long as there is no legal basis that allows or requires the Firm to keep them in its network - as legal purposes and protection of the Firms interests -, the personal data will be deleted after confirmation of receipt of the deletion request.

Furthermore, the retention period is determined by weighing between the nature of the data, the purposes for which it was collected, and the legal requirements applicable to each case.


5. Data Sharing

To ensure the quality of the service provided, the Firm may work together with other partners. Thus, the Firm reserves the right to share your information with partners that provide analytics services, application management, email management, and cloud/storage services. 

In all cases, the Firm shall prioritize establishing business partnerships with service providers that maintain a high level of data protection and information security. 

The Firm is headquartered in Brazil, and the processing of personal data and other responsibilities are governed by the Brazilian law. However, personal data that is transferred to other countries (as in the case of cloud and analytics services), may be subject to local legislation and other related rules.

In addition, the Firm may share subjects’ data upon court, administrative, or arbitration order, or pursuant to a request from the competent public or regulatory authorities.


6. International Transfer

The Firm does not directly transfer personal data collected in Brazil to other countries, nor indirectly through contracted third parties. We use third-party services that strive to adopt appropriate standards in privacy and protection of personal data. 


7. Security Measures

One of the pillars of the Firm is the maintenance of information security and the protection of personal data. Therefore, it adopts technical, administrative, and operational measures aimed at maintaining the protection of all information processed in its physical or digital environments, in addition to adopting internal policies on data processing, information security, use of information and communication technology, compliance, and anti-corruption measures. 

Considering that some of the content available on the Pages of the Firm may include third parties’ content and/or links, the User is aware that they must visit and agree to the terms of use and privacy policies applicable to the respective pages. The information security levels of third-party pages are their sole and exclusive responsibility. 


8. Exercise of data protection rights by Users

In compliance with applicable regulations regarding the processing of personal data, the Firm respects and guarantees the User the possibility of submitting requests based on the following rights:

(i) confirmation of the existence of processing;

(ii) access to the data;

(iii) correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data;

(iv) anonymization, temporary limitation, or deletion of unnecessary, excessive, or improperly processed data;

(v) portability of their data to another service or product provider, upon express request by the User;

(vi) deletion of data processed with the Users consent;

(vii) obtention of information about the public or private entities with which the Firm shared their data;

(viii) information about the possibility of not providing consent, as well as being informed about the consequences in case of refusal; and,

(ix) revocation of consent.

Furthermore, the User has the right to petition the Brazilian Data Protection Agency (ANPD) regarding their data against the Firm, and to request a review of decisions made solely based on automated processing of personal data.

The Firm provides a customer services center for Users of its Pages regarding the processing of personal data. If necessary, contact our DPO, Mr. Nivaldo Soraggi Fernandes, at dpo@azevedosette.com.br.

To respond to requests from Page Users, the Firm reserves the right to use authentication methods at the time of their requests, to ensure security and protect the integrity of information, making its best efforts to respond to requests in accordance with legal requirements. 


9. Updates

We are constantly improving, so this Notice may be updated to provide the User with greater security, convenience, and to further enhance their experience. Therefore, we recommend that Users access our Notice periodically to stay informed about any changes. At the beginning of this Notice, the date of the last update is indicated, and if relevant changes are made that require new authorizations from Users, we will publish this update and request any new authorizations.
